A rubric is a multi-purpose scoring guide for assessing student products and performances. Rubrics support student self-reflection and self-assessment as well as assessing peers in a group. It is a set of criteria and standards typically linked to learning objectives that is used to assess or communicate about product, performance, or process tasks. A rubric allows teachers and students alike to evaluate criteria, which can be complex and subjective and it can also provide a basis for self-evaluation, reflection, and peer review. It can be used to support the teaching and learning process when it is shared with the learner at the beginning of task creation or development process. Additionally, a rubric developed with learners can increase their understanding of the task or project that they are doing. Scoring rubrics include one or more traits or dimensions that serve as the basis for judging the individual performance, progress task or learning objectives. It consists of definitions and examples to clarify the meaning of each trait or dimensions. At the end, a rating scale is given to each dimension.

This assessment is divided into 2 rubrics which can be used to assess self and peer evaluation. The peer assessment rubric can be used to examine other members during the science project presentation. It consists of 8 types of criteria which are preparation, participation, listening, feedback, cooperation, time management, information given to peer and voice tone during presentation. Another self assessment rubric is used to assess individual or self during the progress of the science project. It consists of 7 criteria which are preparation, taking part in the project, listening, giving comments, working together, time management and information given to other members in a group. Each criteria is given a score at the end of each row and the total score marks will be sum up at the end of the column.
